A busy day going around the castle itself and top it off with a sunny evening near the lake is almost perfect if not superlative! Man i truly enjoyed it (to think about it after so many years)!
Blenheim Palace, home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Looking at the names already give me the feeling that it one of the historic place that you ought to visit when you are around Oxford.
Honestly from the house i stayed back in Oxford, it's not so far to visit this place yet it took me almost a year before finally deciding to pay this place a visit. Located at Woodstock, it's about 25 minutes by bus including the stops however waiting for one to come back is a little different story. Bus doesn't ply that route too often, at least when i was there. Duh!
Upon reaching the entrance, you will still have to walk a solid ten minute before you actually reach the castle itself. from there onward it will take a good 4 hours to see most of the place. The reason i said MOST instead of ALL is that this is a seriously huge place. Try Google it if you think i am exaggerating!
I certainly had a good time going running around the place. The architecture and the layout of the whole property is simple breath-taking! You can understand after all the running around, it certainly breathtaking in one way or the other. The sheer size and history that bestowed on this property is simple ..... STUNNING!
The only downside is that my wife (girlfriend back then), was unable to join me. But i am sure there will and almost certainly a very good chance i will bring her there in the near future.
