The Journey to Langkawi A bright and sunny morning, I could have not asked for more as looking toward travelling to Langkawi on boat. I wish we took the plane, but well Princess wanted to have a look at what is Payar Island all about. Frankly this trip somehow remind me of those day when i visited Payar Island with Lao Seong. Damm it was really fun. But well this trip is not bad after all, well lease i have my Princess to go along. Actually thats why i choose Langkawi instead of Phuket. Phuket perhaps will be the next destination.
For a guy at the age of more then 30, his attitude does not resemble a little to himself. He look like a over grown kid. You see true happiness in his eyes, compare to his daily life. NOw i am not trying to sound "gay-ish" but well he is indeed a good freind of many. Now that he is somewhere on the other half of where i am sitting currently, writing on this "articles". Well, i wish him well and kicking.

Back to me-self, i suppose the next holiday trip will be to Payar Island, I will like the idea of able to take underwater picture. Also if Princess fancy some sun. I doubt!
A Glimpse of Payar Island Our first halt to Langkawi was a short stop at Payar Island to drop of some passanger. By then Princess has already woke up from her nap below deck. So i drag her up to have a look at Payar Island. Lucky for us it was bright and sunny, so we get to have a good
look at Payar Island. Looking at the platform itself, i can already imageine back those days when Lao Seong was forced to jump in the water.
Smooth Sailing Comparing the last trip to this one? Ah, this is really nice, smooth and calm. Well perhaps it's the captain doing a great job, steering the boat "correctly". Frankly you dont feel you are on the sea. I can even speak on the phone while on the boat. Oh, what does speaking on a phone got to do with smooth sailing huh. Hahha ... Well if you are travelling the same way as i do, i hope you are on Langkawi Ferry Services
as i was using their services. It was second to nothing comparing price range. Please do not compare a Cruise with the boat i am in. For the price less then RM100 (two way ticket, from Penang to Langkawi and back) it's satisfaction guaranteed.
Awana Porto Malai Second time i am in this hotel. Nothing much changes. The room indeed deteriorate, just slightly below my expection but it's alright. Not like i am gonna stuck in the room all the time. The food, still the same just average. The room service did improve. The view still the same, fantastic. Imagine waking up in the morning, over-looking the sea (not sure what sea was that), with glittering water and catamaran. Oh living paradise! Now i know why they want bungalows by the sea. Only one thing dissapoint me was that the cruise docking area was moved to the end of the hotel. So no more cruise at night to look at. Apart from that, everything was a dream holiday.
Underwater World, Langkawi. Seriously i have no idea, this is the first time or second time i am visiting this place. Perhaps it's a memory lapses. I hardly recall did i visited this place.
For RM 35.00 per person, it's over priced if you asked. Barely much thing to see except some penguins that you cant take picture with. Thanks to the super thick protective "glass", using flash will just reflect the flash and distort the
picture. Using night mode? Yeah right! if you can keep the penguin still. Somehow with this super thick glass you can still see tourists knocking on the glass and trying to "speak" to the penguins. They never seems to amused me, FUNNY! I guess human always try the impossible. I guess failing to take some nice picture is also down to myself, for not putting more efford into learning how to operate my SLR. Hey, nobody was born to be Einstein ey? I guess one thing i learn from this experience is that i seriously need a tripod stand.
one of the new attraction from Langkawi. It's not really bad, just below expectation. Malaysian, if you produce your ID card, you'll get a 10 bucks off your ticket. Apart from the heavy "fogging", everything was fine. At 705 meter, it was really hard to take picture, thanks to the heavy "fogging". If you want some nice picture, i will suggest that you stop by the mid hill and have your photo taken. We did try however to take picture at the top, but luck was not on our side, RAIN greeted us, never-the-less, we manage to get a few shot away before the rain moved in.
Cable Car, Langkawi 705 meter above sea level, it was below what i have expected. There is reason why people say do not expect too much. But least this is
Driving Around The Island Now i understand why they say places in Langkawi is all far apart. Frankly speaking, i drove appx 45 minute to reach The Datai Hotel. This is a real HIG CLASS hotel, bear in mind why i said so is that the CHEAPEST at the LOWEST season will cost you RM 1500 per room, not speaking of any "side" order you made. Clearly this hotel is meant for the rich and famous. But i would say it's worth every penny you spent. It's really cool just by looking at the pool itself. Apart from that, the beaches is not so bad, along the road to The Datai. Andaman Hotel seems not bad either, but i did not stop by. Driving around Langkawi does bring back the memory as you are driving in Kampung. Seriously i have no idea why Malaysia want to develope Langkawi when it's all kampung. Ask me Penang will be a more ideal place to develope. Somehow it doesnt make sense.
Driving Around The Island Speaking of food, i will only give a average rating on food in the island itself. Perhaps those who fancy Malay food, this will be a paradise. I wasnt really keen on eating outside nor at the hotel, but perhaps it was due to the distance from our hotel to the town that i take the risk of eating in the hotel rather then a 40 minute drive to the town. Anyway we were given a dinner buffet, so why waste right?

It was after visiting the cable car that we went exploring nearby area for food. We came to this restaurant called Pulau Pulau. We has doubt over the food so we went exploring nearby for other foods. I wanted to try this USSR food, but i was the minority, so we ended up back to PUlau Pulau Seafood Restaurant. We had some real good food which is not cheap, but still it's worth it.
Lunch Before Leaving Since we still have some times to spent before our boat. We decided to get our lunch and buy some duty free items. Not like i want to mention it here, my parents might be looking at this. haha. A nice lunch indeed and YES thats what i call Pineapple Rice. Oh i also manage to get a camera bag for my SLR, thanks to my Princess for spotting the shop. It was a bit over price, but i'll rather take it then wait for my friend to get it for me. No regret. Next target a flash ligh perhaps. For now, it was a satisfied trip after all. I believe my Princess does have a good time because i did, so as long as Princess is with me.
